Oven Roasted Pumpkins

Thanksgiving is around the corner and everyone is thinking about how to enjoy the traditions of old during the new nomal. Even in these hard times, there’s always something to be thankful for, and for me that’s the classic pumpkin pie (with whipped cream on top, of course).

Lucky for us, one of our residents is the Agricultural Education Director of Calleva, an independent farm located in Poolesville, Maryland, known most famously for hosting Markoff’s Haunted Forest.

We worked with them to host a virtual class, where they taught our residents how to make the perfect pumpkin pie from scratch, right down to selecting and roasting their own pumpkins! The pies turned out great, and we all got a little taste of good old fashioned home cooking.
